Covid19 Operations

Beginning October 5th

  • Stay home if you are feeling unwell or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid 19.
  • Wear a mask or face covering that covers both your mouth and nose while in the library. This is required by State of Alabama ordinance.
  • Maintain 6 feet of distance between yourself and anyone not within your household.
  • Wash or sanitize your hands often and do not touch your face.
  • We are limiting capacity to 30. Please limit your visit to one hour.  

While visiting the library you may...

  • Browse and checkout materials or pickup holds
  • Use a computer
  • Send a fax or make copies
  • Ask the librarians a question
  • Get a library card

We aren't yet ready for...

  • Studying/tutoring
  • Tech help
  • In person programs
  • Meeting room reservations
  • Study rooms
  • Eating/drinking
  • Reading newspapers

Computer use:

  • Computer use is first come first served on Mon, Wed, and Fri. 
  • Computer appointments can be made for Tue and Thu.
  • In person assistance is currently unavailable. 
  • Computer use is limited to 1 hour per person, per day.

Curbside will remain available on the days we are not open to the public. 

  • Place items on hold
  • Call 205-6220-6418 when you arrive at the library
  • We will bring your item(s) outside

Safety protocols

The City of Pelham and the Pelham Public Library must emphasize that you should put your health and safety first. Please stay home if you are not feeling well. If you are in a susceptible group, please feel free to take advantage of our Curbside Service and digital resources.

What we are doing:

  • Sanitizing our building and equipment on a regular basis
  • Returned items are quarantined for 7 days 
  • Staff pass a daily health screening
  • Wearing a mask 
  • Social distancing
  • Practicing good hand hygiene
