Mission Statement
The mission of the Communications Office is to facilitate communication with the public, the media, and employees regarding City services and to assist City departments in developing and sharing information about City programs, services, and activities.
This website is the central hub for official information, resources, and services. We post all official announcements, legal notices, press releases, and important documents here. You'll also find online forms and applications for various city services. It is a one-stop shop for doing business with City staff.

The City also maintains several subsites, including dedicated webpages for Pelham Parks & Recreation, the Pelham Public Library, the Pelham Police Department, the Pelham Civic Complex & Ice Arena, the Pelham Racquet Club, and Ballantrae Golf Club. These sites provide information about the services offered by these specific departments and entities, program calendars, special events, and online registration/reservations.
For visitors looking to explore Pelham, we took it a step further to create a marketing and tourism website called Explore Pelham. Here, you will find stunning photography and videos, information on day trips, and virtual tours.
The City of Pelham communicates on social media via Facebook, Instagram, and Nextdoor. These platforms are used for real-time updates, marketing, and community engagement, such as posts about upcoming events, community meetings, and local news. For those unfamiliar with Nextdoor, it is a neighborhood-based app that allows us to narrow our communication to people who live in specific areas when needed. For example, if street work is scheduled for a particular neighborhood or subdivision, we can notify Nextdoor users in that neighborhood's group.
Social Media Terms of Use
The City of Pelham's social media platforms serve as limited public forums designed to foster communication and engagement with our community. We encourage civil conversations across all our platforms, but inappropriate comments will be removed without warning by the administrators of these accounts.
By posting on an official City of Pelham social media account, you acknowledge that your comments are publicly visible and may be subject to copying, distribution, or display by others. The City of Pelham does not endorse or verify the accuracy of user-generated content posted on its platforms.
Comment Moderation Policy
The City of Pelham reserves the right to remove, hide, or not approve any comment that falls into the following categories:
- Hateful, threatening, or discriminatory comments directed at any individual or group
- Graphic, obscene, or explicit content, including images, links, or language of a sexual nature
- Comments containing foul language or vulgar content
- Personal attacks, harassment, or defamatory statements
- Comments meant to incite violence toward elected leaders, city employees, or members of the community
- False or misleading information
- Comments that are off-topic from the intent of the original post
- Spam or commercial solicitations, including advertisements or promotions of products and services
- Solicitations for money, including political fundraising, personal fundraising (e.g., GoFundMe, Venmo), or donations for any cause
- Political campaigning or lobbying, to include support or opposition of political campaigns or candidates, political parties or groups, and political ideology
- Content that infringes on copyrights
- Comments that could compromise public safety or security
- Discussion of ongoing investigations, legal matters, or procurement-sensitive information
A comment will not be edited or modified to remove unacceptable content; instead, the entire comment will be deleted. Users who violate this policy may be temporarily or permanently banned from the City of Pelham's social media platforms without prior warning.
We recognize that social media operates 24/7; however, moderation and responses should generally be expected during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays). For official requests, concerns, or service inquiries, we encourage residents to contact the appropriate City department directly or use the Pelham 311 app rather than posting them in the comments.
With our new Pelham 311 app, we have tools to send push notifications to deliver timely and crucial information directly to your mobile device, whether it is a utility service disruption, a road closure, or a reminder about an important deadline or event. In some instances, all users may get a notification. In others, we may narrow the notification to users within a polygon if the communication only affects people in a particular area. We want to encourage you to download the Pelham 311 app and enable push notifications, as it will allow for one more way to engage with the City one-on-one and report issues, like a missed trash pickup.
