Visually appealing gateways with welcome signs and landscaping create a positive first impression and set the tone for what's to come. They make people feel welcome and excited about exploring the city. In Pelham, we consider our gateways the introduction to our brand story, and significant improvements are planned to reflect the true essence of the city. It's a way of saying, "This is who we are, and we want you to experience it."
Project at a Glance
Plans call for updates at all of the city's major entry points. The first two, which were included in the FY 2024 budget are on US-31 at the northern and southern borders. The gateways will include signage with a mix of natural and modern elements, landscaping, and lighting. Part of the landscaping will include wildflower meadows with flora species native to Alabama.
